Ugnė Tamuliūnaitė

is a set and costume designer working across ballet, theatre, and opera. She studied set and costume design at the Vilnius Academy of Arts, where she completed BA and MA degrees in Scenography. Her work has been presented in Lithuania and internationally.

After graduating, Ugnė began her career as an assistant costume designer at the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre, where she worked on productions with internationally renowned artists, directors, designers, and choreographers, including Robert Wilson, Damiano Michieletto, Luisa Spinatelli, Manuel Legris, and Mauro Bigonzetti. She has also worked as lead costume designer on ballet and opera productions at the theatre.

Since 2022, Ugnė has worked regularly as an assistant costume designer at the Salzburg Festival, contributing to productions directed by Shirin Neshat, Peter Sellars, Martin Kušej, Simon McBurney, Dmitri Tcherniakov, and Romeo Castellucci.

Currently based in Paris, Ugnė works as a freelance artist, collaborating with directors in Lithuania and contributing to international productions. Her work experiments with materials, colour, and light to create immersive visual atmospheres and sensory experiences that transform mood, time, and place on stage.

She has been a member of the Lithuanian Artists’ Association since 2022 and was nominated for the Golden Stage Cross in 2025 for her costume design for Macbeth.

Her artist residencies include a residency for theatre makers at the Centre Culturel Irlandais in Paris in 2022, Circolo Scandinavo in Rome, and MiSHŌ Art Residency in Fujino, Japan, both in 2026.
